Yahoo! Search Pad beta released.
Earlier in the year, Yahoo! released a demonstration video of a tool called Search Pad. The demo showed someone searching for a holiday destination (and then later a laptop) and as their search activity "appeared" to be research, Yahoo! displayed an option "Take notes on [search term]". Clicking "yes" brought up the Search Pad interface, allowing them to make notes about the web sites that they had visited.
Now the much waited for Search Pad has been released in beta. It appears that Yahoo! has changed the way in which it is implemented from that demonstrated in the video. Now, when you start searching in Yahoo!, a button for Search pad appears at the right hand side of the results page. As you click on results, they are stored in Search Pad (although obviously you would not know this if you didn’t go back to Yahoo after clicking on a result).
All in all, this is a useful tool which I hope will be refined as time goes on.
