Microsoft’s new crawler is ramping up its spidering.
Microsoft recently announced that its new crawler will be more prevalent within referrer logs. The new bot was first announced in December 2008 will be designated as:
msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)
within your logs. The old bot:
msnbot/1.1 (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)
which was released in February 2008, will remain in use as Bing’s primary User-Agent.
Sadly in my opinion Microsoft didn’t go for "bingbot", which has a good ring to it.
