Role Summary
A Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day task management of smaller engagements (3-6 team members, up to GBP 200k revenue).
These may be part of a larger portfolio of engagements for a single client. They ensure project scope is defined, create and manage the project plan, and provide direction to team members.
Responsibilities and main result areas:
Planning
- Day to day management of the project team
- Own plan (or section of plan) and track/update
- Define responsibilities and set direction with the team
Communications
- Run team meetings and capture issues and actions. Ensure actions are followed up by the team
- Track and maintain project issues log
- Weekly status reporting to PM Director / CD / CP, including financial if T&M
- Escalate issues to PM Director / CD / CP where appropriate
Consulting
- Attend client meetings and capture requirements and minutes. Listen, ask questions when unclear
- Assisting PM Director in preparing project presentations, e.g. compiling top project issues, gathering information
- Manage scope with client
Financials
- Report budget and forecasts to PM Director / CD / CP
- Track actual time and expenses incurred by team
Leadership
- New team member orientation with regards to distribution lists, project codes, desk, client/project overview
- Support team in consolidating deliverables and packaging and submitting deliverables (e.g. version tracking)
- Conducts timely, fair and accurate project reviews for team members, where appropriate.
- Conducts self, and communicates, professionally with clients and colleagues
- Works proactively with Client Director / Partner to ensure completion of project reviews for self.
Qualifications and Experience
- 1st or 2.1 degree from a top 20 university - subject non-specific.
- A degree demonstrating analytical capability is preferred
- Several years experience in relevant industry (e.g. application development, e-business consulting, online design)
- Experience leading a team of 3-4 people
- Role specific skills in a project role, such as Engineering, Business Analysis, Information Architecture
- Proven organisational skills
