Role Summary
LBi are are growing our User Experience department, you will be the operational lead on the project managing up to 5 other EA's.
LBi are are growing our User Experience department. You will be a senior member of the department and play an important role in shaping our project teams, developing relationships with clients and providing leadership.
Here's what we would expect from you:
You will need to inspire and manage a team - you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of UEA teams of between 4-8, working across two or more projects/clients. It sometimes gets hectic, and that's when your team needs you to stay on top of many things without losing your cool, while also keeping control over quality and the bigger picture.
You will be amazing in front of clients - it goes without saying that your client skills are second to none. You'll have daily contact with clients and you really need to come to life in client presentations and workshops where our clients will be looking to you for expert advice and thought leadership - you also need to be pragmatic to ensure that we deliver strategic value (not just good UE) to the client's business.
You are passionate about user experiences - digital is where we operate, so we do expect an in-depth knowledge of that domain, as well as relevant experience, however it is neither here nor there whether your professional experiences are in Interaction, Interface, Application, or Service design. It's your passion for how all these things mix together and create coherent, fulfilling and rich cross-media user experiences that we will employ you for.
You have done this for years - you feel at home in a creative agency environment and find your way in everything from creative briefings to detailed specifications. You will lead work for big name brands on large-scale projects solving some rather complex problems. We believe that only extensive hands-on experience would have given you the operational skills that we are looking for.
You thrive in multi-disciplinary teams - at this stage in your career, your domain knowledge and expertise should be comfortably deep (and increasingly broad!) and you would have worked with most other creative disciplines in project teams. At LBi we create solutions as part of highly collaborative teams including our key allies: designers, technologists, researchers, planners, project managers, & business consultants. So for us it's your attitude and ideas towards collaboration that will set you apart.
You have extraordinary attention to detail - for some of your time you'll be heads-down, working out the granular details together with your team, but you will also be operationally responsible for all user experience deliverables, so we expect you to maintain a high-level view at all times. Your ability to elevate between granular attention and a holistic view will be essential, and from our own experience you can't master this until you've worked on many many projects.
You want to continually progress the role of User Experience - We have a great legacy and strong presence at LBi because we keep progressing our thinking, promoting our value and inspiring the department in order to keep up with the ever-changing markets we work in. We need you to help keep ourselves known in the industry as thought leaders in User Experience, supporting our recognition as one of the best places to do our kind of work.
