LBi Creative Directors launch first Cannt Festival
Whilst Creative Directors from across the industry head to Cannes Lions this month, top London agencies, including LBi, Wieden + Kennedy, Mother, Poke, Skive, Soup, Rehab Studio, Plan B Studio, AMV BBDO and many more , invite everyone that isn’t going to Cannes to the Cannt Festival; a week-long celebration of creativity hosted at venues across East London from 19th – 24th June.
The festival features a broad range of inclusive, entertaining and educational events organised as a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the great creative work that makes their agencies shine on the Croisette, whilst bringing a touch of the Cannes halo back to London.
The festival is the brainchild of LBi’s Executive Creative Directors Simon Gill and Laura Jordan Bambach, who organised a smaller version last year with SheSays and Meat Club. This year the festival is on a much bigger scale, with LBi enlisting the support of some of the industries most recognised agencies.
Festival highlights include the ‘Battle of the Bands’ held at LBi’s Brick Lane HQ, live art in Shoreditch and portfolio night at a local venue. In addition organisations such as SheSays and Creative Social will also be putting on their own exciting events.
There will also be a “Gutter Bar” in East London (Corbet Place) plus link-ups to Cannes through the “Gutterbarometer” app, which proved extremely popular at last year’s Cannes festival, alongside live broadcasts from judges and visitors at the festival.
LBi’s Laura Jordan Bambach said: “Cannt is a festival born out of the desire to thank all the folk that contribute so much over the year to the success of their agencies at Cannes, but don’t have an opportunity to go. We’re keen that in the inaugural festival year we support and connect as many agencies, colleges and other people involved in making the great work as possible.
“We have great collaborators from big names such as AMV and WK, to boutique outfits like Soup; production gurus like Rehab Studio and colleges such as Ravensbourne. Our hope is that this will be the beginning of a yearly celebration by the whole industry, for the industry.”
